Travel Poster

I chose the Grand Canyon Park poster because of its choice of color and depth. Although the colors aren't completely true to the actual piece the colors capture the dry atmosphere of the Grand Canyon. I believe it still achieves the essence of grandeur and vastness through atmospheric perspective. The focal point of the piece is the most contrasted in order for it to stand out and draws the eye around the other two mesas which are slightly cut off because this poster is in fact, only a preview. This is how it achieves its persuasiveness to entice the viewer to come visit. With the view given, the poster basically says, "You can be standing here, and see the rest of the canyon!". This is a successful composition because it persuades the viewer, shows what the Grand Canyon has to offer, and is aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
